None of Whall’s quests began with a fixed and certain itinerary in mind. All were thoroughly researched, but each journey predominantly sought out encounters with the unknown. A great journey needs plenty of time. If rushed, each experience risks becoming a kind of abstract package tour devoid of beauty and meaning.
